Pat Barrett, Treasure

Elected to the LOFC Board in June 2018, for an eight-year term, Pat presently retired after serviing as Treasurer for two plus years.

Born 1942, in Greenwood, Mississippi, Pat attended public school in Lexington, graduating from Lexington High School in 1960. After graduating from Millsaps College in 1964 with Bachelor of Arts in psychology, he attended the University of Mississippi Law School graduating in 1967 with a Juris Doctorate.

Pat returned to Lexington to join the Barrett Law Firm with his father Pat M. Barrett, who had practiced law in Lexington since 1933 with Noel and Pepper. From 1967 until his retirement in 2014, Pat had a successful practice with his brother Don Barrett and other family members and associates.

Married to Janice Forney Barrett, originally of San Antonio, Pat and Janice reside in Lexington in the historic home of former Governor Edmund Favor Noel, who is buried at Lexington Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pat has three adult children, Laura B. Taylor of Houston, Texas; Patrick Barrett of Nashville, Tennessee; and Jonathan Barrett of Madison, Mississippi. Daughter Rachel Barrett is deceased.

Pat is a lifelong member of Lexington First United Methodist Church. He has numerous relatives and friends buried at LOFC, including his parents, all four grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
