Ernest Frank Rathell
Funeral services for Ernest Franklin Rathell, Jr., 60, of Lexington were held from First Presbyterian Church in Lexington at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 with Rev. Howard Allen officiating. Interment followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Rathell died at his home on Friday, March 8.
Mr. Rathell was a farmer and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Maude M. Rathell of Lexington, and two sisters, Mrs. Dan McCullen of Jackson and Mrs. Charles McCain of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Serving as active pallbearers were Bob McLellan, Richard Davis, Ted Batson, Leland Johnson, White Malone, Gene Austin, Wayne Rhea and Charles “Bubba” Stewart.
Honorary pallbearers were John Kimbrough, Gordon Ashley, Bud Moore, Dr. Gordon Russell, Dr. Charles Campbell, Kim Kimbrough and Gilliam Gwin.
