Announcing Winners of Photography Contest!

Dear Friends of LOFC,

We are pleased to announce the results of the Photography Contest, with the winners selected by the renowned and celebrated photographer Bill Eggleston. Bill is a descendant of, and named for, William Eggleston, who came to the Mississippi Territory in the early 1800's and settled on Funny Gusher Creek about 15 miles north of Lexington. He named his plantation "Wanalaw." William Eggleston was also one of the founders of Calvary Episcopal Church near Wanalaw, which later merged its membership with the Church of the Advent in Acona and moved their membership to the newly built St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Lexington in 1879. The Maintenance Club

Last autumn we invited you as our valued supporters of LOFC to consider making a monthly reoccurring donation on our website. Named the Maintenance Club, it presently has seventeen (17) members who have generously committed to make a monthly donation. Its goal is to have reoccurring donations that cover the monthly expenditures of approximately $4,000 per month, without having to use capital from the Endowment Fund. By covering its monthly expenses to maintain and preserve our historic cemetery, LOFC can grow the Endowment Fund so that in time it will provide self-sustaining and perpetual care.

If you would like to see a list of those participating in the Maintenance Club, please [click here]({{ site_url }}maintenance-club). Moreover, if you would like to add your name, please consider making a reoccurring monthly donation. It can be anything from $10 (the cost of a lunch out) or greater per month.

We appreciate your support and could not operate without your generous gifts.
