Funeral services for Mrs. A. V. Brantley Alderman, 79, of Durant were held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 7 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Durant. Rev. Wayne Hudson officiated. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mrs. Alderman died of respiratory failure on Wednesday, February 4 at Methodist Hospital of Middle Mississippi in Lexington.
She was a native of Leake County, a retired seamstress at Durant Sportswear and a Methodist.
Survivors include: son, Jerry A. Brantley of Grand Bay, Alabama; step-sons, Max Brantley of Carthage and Kenneth Brantley of McAdams; daughters, Sue Hager of Lexington, Linda Sakriska of Pearl and Debbie Cockroft of Kosciusko; step-daughters, Gene Quinn of Madison and Ouida Clark of Brandon; sisters, Ellen Winstead of Durant and Ollie Dean Pinter of Chicago, Illinois; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Mark Seymour, Paul Hager, Elmer Keith, Michel Cockroft, Marty Keith, and Andy Brantley.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. John Downer, Sonny Potts, George Jackson, Thomas Woods, and Bobby Marshall.
