Obituary A. E. "Ad" Rutledge
Graveside services for A. E. "Ad" Rutledge, 79, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington. Rev. J. B. Burns officiated, assisted by Dr. Mike O’Brien. Southern Funeral Home of Lexington was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rutledge died of cancer on Friday, May 17 at Methodist Hospital of Middle Mississippi in Lexington.

A native of Iuka in Tishomingo County, he was retired from the U. S. Soil Conservation Service and a Baptist. He was a World War II Navy veteran, having served in the Pacific Theater.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Rutledge of Lexington; and a sister, Bamadell Mullen of Lexington and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers were Lee Rutledge, Billy Edwards, Earl Littlejohn, Charles Mullen, Bill Floyd, Wayne Rhea, Pepper Tidwell and Oscar McDougald.
