Obituary
Alfred S. Gordon

Funeral services for Alfred S. Gordon, 74, of Goodman were held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 5, at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City, with the Reverend Jasper Neel, the Reverend Gill Wallace and the Rev. J.C. Olander officiating. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mr. Gordon died Monday night at Corpus Christi, Texas, where he was visiting a son. He was a retired patrolman for Illinois Central Railroad.

Mr. Gordon, a former resident of Tchula, was a member of Tchula Post #155 American Legion, a veteran of World War I and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Gordon of Goodman; two sons, Albert S. Gordon Jr., Corpus Christi; Davis Gordon, Labaca, Texas; two step-sons, Thomas Perry, Houston, Texas, John Perry, Winona; ten grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. J.H. Davis, Houston, Texas.

Pallbearers were E. H. Odom, Bob Gillespie, Frank Gwin, Jr., L. C. Thompson, E.C. (Shorty) Williams, and Jim Dukeminer.
