Mrs. Annelle Lipsey West was born in Goodman, MS on April 30, 1904, the only child of Mattie Julia Noel Lipsey and Richard Mayo Lipsey. Following her family's move to Lexington, MS and her high school years there, Annelle attended Whitworth College at Brookhven, MS, transferring to Belhaven College from which she graduated in 1922. She died at age 102.
While teaching school in Rome, MS, she met and married Charles C. West in 1923, later teaching in both Lexington, MS and Panama City, FL.
In the 1930's the West's moved to Indianola where, among other occupations, they owned the West Packing Plant and engaged in farming interests of the Noel family land in Holmes County, MS.
One hobby which was a source of much pleasure to Mrs. West and her husband was the extensive travel in their Airstream trailer, although in recent years she derived much contentment from the mere fact that at such an advanced age she was blessed to continue living alone in her own home. A lifelong Methodist, Annelle was also a member of the D.A.R.
Mrs. West is related to numerous members of Noel, Lipsey, Hooker and West families.
