Herman Autry, Newspaper Man Dies Suddenly
Funeral services for Herman Hooker Autry were held at 3:30 Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Southern Funeral Home in Durant. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington under the direction of Southern.
Mr. Autry died Wednesday at Holmes County Community Hospital following an apparent stroke. A newspaper distributor, he was 58. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ruth Frazier Autry of Durant; a son, John A. Autry of Durant; a daughter, Mrs. Stanley M. Bieza of Costa Mesa, California; three brothers, W. L. Autry of West, R. K. Autry of Lexington, and Adrian Autry of Tallahassee, Florida; three sisters, Mrs. W.D. Lampley of Texas City, Texas, Mrs. J. T. Kirk of Tallulah, Louisiana, and Bonnie Jones of Oxnaro, California.
