Obituary 

Beatrice Irene Farmer Alford

Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice Irene Farmer Alford, 91, of Greenwood were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14 at First Baptist Church in Lexington. Officiating ministers were Dr. Mike O’Brien and Rev. Stacey Ferguson. Burial was In Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Alford died of heart failure on Wednesday, December 11 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Greenwood.

A native of Carroll County, she was a longtime resident of Lexington. She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Christian Church. She was the widow of H. T. Alford.

Survivors include: eight sons, Harvey Alford of El Paso, Texas, Willie M. Alford, George Alford of Beaufort, S. C., Herman T. Alford, Jr. of Austell, Georgia, Larkin S. Alford of Greenwood, Lester Alford of Gulfport, Floyd C. Alford of Grafton, North Dakota. and Jeffie Afford of Lexington; four daughters, Juanita Siltman of Quincy, Illinois, Mozelle Perry of Orosi, Calif., Patricia Ann Yoder of Gulfport and Maxine Jones of Yazoo City; sister, Rosa Mae Mims of Black Hawk; 42 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were J. W. Farmer, Billy Mims, Mike Ellis, Jerry Farmer, Joe Farmer, and Johnny Word. Jim Rhyne was an honorary pallbearer.
