Caption under photo: Col. B. F. McClellan, former assistant adjutant-general of the Mississippi Guard, was called from retirement to become executive officer in the selective service program. A West Pointer who has numerous medals for gallantry in several American wars, he served with the Army of Occupation in France after front-line service during the World War.
Benjamin McClellan graduated from West Point in 1903.
