Betty L. White

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Maud Lundy White, 70, of Lexington were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 8 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mike O’Brien was the officiating minister. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mrs. White died of cancer Sunday, August 6 at her home in Lexington.

A native of Holmes County, she was a retired bookkeeper with the Holmes County Welfare Department. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lexington and the Eula Kenna Sunday School Class, where she served as corresponding secretary.

She was the widow of Jack White, longtime Lexington resident.

Survivors include sons, Jack Lundy White of Pearl, Charles Drue White of Jacksonville, Florida and William B. White of Lexington; daughters, Betty Lou Hale of Pensacola, Florida and Adelia Ann Richards of Pace, Florida; sister, Inez Lundy Batson of Lexington 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Serving as active pallbearers were Ruddy Rush, Barry Hale, John Hale, Jacques Richards, Willie Donahoo, and Thad Henley.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. John Downer, Vernon Hathcock and Ed Ellison.
