Linda Lou Baughn Brister, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 16, 2018. Visitation is Wednesday, March 21, 10:00 am at Parkway Funeral Home (1161 Highland Colony Pkwy) in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services are at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 21 at Parkway Funeral home, with the burial in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington, MS.

Linda was a native of Lexington and a long time resident of Brandon, MS. She was a 1964 graduate of Benton High School and graduated from Mississippi State University. Linda was a beloved wife, daughter, mother and grandmother with a strong dedication to her family. She had a passion for reading, researching family history, spoiling her granddaughters, sports and Mississippi State athletics.

Linda worked for Stockman Grass Farmer for over 20 years where she worked alongside many close friends.

She leaves behind to celebrate her life, her son, Michael Brister of Chicago, IL; son, Matt Brister of Brandon; daughter, son-in-law and two granddaughters, Amanda, Caton, Lilly & Harper Brooks of Germantown, TN; her mother, Thena “Tootsie” Baughn of Lexington and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her devoted and beloved husband, Walter Mather Brister Jr.; father, Johnnie A. Baughn; grandmother, Lillie Maude Hearn; grandfather, W.E. “Woody” Hearn; mother-in-law, Jeanette Brister; father-in-law, Walther Mather Brister, Sr.
