Obituary
Virginia Mae Burkley

Mrs. Virginia Mae Burkley, 68, a retired grocery store clerk, died of heart failure Tuesday, December 7 at Conva-Rest Nursing Home in Hattiesburg.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 9 at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Rev. Tom Hollowell officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, she had made her home in Lexington for many years where she worked as a checkout clerk at T & T store.

Survivors include: a daughter, Virginia Ann Langlois of Memphis; sisters, Helen Runnels of Hattiesburg and Loretta Schrader of Clearwater, Florida.

Active pallbearers were Mack Grantham, Marvin Dixon, Charlie Earl Redmond, John Henry Harris, White Malone and Lorance Frost.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Mississippi Division, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.
