Obituary
Ann F. Byrd
Ann Farmer Byrd, 80, a retired - , died of heart failure June 21 at her home in Brandon. Services were held at 1:00 p.m. - from the chapel of Baldwin Funeral Home in Pearl with a graveside service in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mrs. Byrd, a Carroll County native, lived in the Jackson area for - years. She was a member of Crossgates United Methodist Church where she was a choir member, member of the UMW, a member of the Mississippi Coral Society. She was a poet with many published poems. She - published in the Jackson Daily News under the Candle Glow & Candor column. Mrs. Beth Wallace Slaymaker, a - of Mrs. Byrd’s family, had a book published of her poems.

She was preceded in death parents, William Byrd & Dell Teasley Farmer, a sister, Manie Ella Armstrong, all of Lexington, a granddaughter, Stephanie Rae Holder of Conyers, Georgia.

Survivors include: son, James Holder, Jr. of Conyers, Georgia, daughter, Joyanne Ball of Richland, brothers, Herbert Farmer of West Point and Gary P. Farmer of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Margaret McCarty of Jackson, Virginia Upshaw of Phoenix, Harriett Wood of McComb, and Patricia Farmer of Purvis; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Evelyn Armstrong Downs Scholarship Fund French Camp, French Camp Mississippi.
