Obituary
Charlie D. "Pete" Blackstock
Funeral services for Charlie D. "Pete" Blackstock, 66, were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 28 from Southern Funeral Home chapel in Lexington with Rev. Alan Kilgore officiating. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mr. Blackstock, a farm manager and a member of First Baptist Church in Tchula, died at Methodist Hospital of Middle Mississippi in Lexington on Sunday, September 27. He was a native of Attala County and a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Blackstock is survived by his wife, Charlotte Byrd Blackstock of Tchula; one daughter, Mrs. Bridget Smith-Vaniz of Canton: his mother, Mrs. Estelle Stevens Blackstock of Kosciusko; one brother, D.W. Blackstock of Terry; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Tommy Smith Vaniz, Ricky Davidson, Steve Upchurch, Walt Diggs, George Shute, Mack Phillips, Teddy Moses and Lester Lyon.

Honorary pallbearers were Malcolm Phillips, Charlie Wade, Sonny Diggs, Jack Chisolm, Gilly McKibben, Buddy Upchurch, Clyde Smith, Jimmy Love, Glenn Brock, Larry Clanton, Bobby Love, Earl Davidson, Guy Duke, and Kenneth Shute.
