Miss Clara Watson was a Lexington native who was a retired teacher at Lexington High School and Central Homes Academy. She was a graduate of Belhaven College and attended the University of Mississippi where she received a masters degree in guidance and counseling. She was a past president of the Magnolia Garden Club and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She had two nieces, Alice Watson Crull of Metairie, La., and Clara B. Watson Joorfetz of Jackson, and four nephews, Julian Watson, Bill Watson, John Watson and Malcolm Watson, and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Obituary

Services for Miss Clara Beall Watson, 88, of Lexington were held Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Miss Watson, a Lexington native, died Dec. 9, 2003 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was a retired teacher at Lexington High School and Central Homes Academy. She was a graduate of Belhaven College and attended the University of Mississippi where she received a masters degree in guidance and counseling. She was a past president of the Magnolia Garden Club and a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by nieces Alice Watson Crull of Metairie, La., and Clara B. Watson Joorfetz of Jackson; four nephews, Julian Watson, Bill Watson, John Watson and Malcolm Watson; numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Rev. Dale Van Ness and Rev. Lorance Frost officiated.

Pallbearers were Nicky Nichols, Thomas B. Nichols, Jim Raley, Forrest Raley, William L. Crull IV, Charles R. Watson and Johnny Jorrfetz
