Claud Leake Jones, Sr.

Claud Leake Jones, Sr., 79, of Ocean Springs died Sunday, Jan. 17 in Biloxi. Mr. Jones was a native of Holmes County and had been a farmer in the Delta until his retirement in 1968. He was a 1929 graduate of the University of Mississippi and a member of the Council Chapter and Knights Templar of the Lexington Masonic Lodge. He was past master of the Lexington Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Mr. Jones was an Episcopalian.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Fay Wallace Jones of Ocean Springs; two sons, Claud L. Jones, Jr, of Midland, Texas, and William W. Jones of Greenwood: one daughter, Mrs. Fay Webb of Long Beach; and two grandchildren.

The body was sent from Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs to Wilson-Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood. Graveside services with Masonic rites were held Monday, January 18 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington at 3:00 p.m.

The family prefers memorials to the Hospice Program of Gulf Coast Community Hospital in Biloxi.
