Dell J. Moses

Dell Jordan Moses, 92, surrounded by her family departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, June 4, 2012 in Lexington.

Mrs. Moses was born May 18, 1920 in Tolarville, Miss., to the late Walter Warren Jordan and Notie Green Jordan. She was a homemaker. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lexington, where she had been a Bible teacher in several departments.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Theo Moses; sons, William Jordan Moses and Charles Edward Moses; sisters, Virgie J. Hammett, Bobbie J. Edwards, Marvelene J. Killebrew and a brother, T. B. Jordan.

Mrs. Moses is survived by her daughters, Nancy Goss (Allen) of Morgan, Texas, and Janie Harris (Ellis) of Tchula; son, Theodore Moses (Stella) of Lexington; brother, Henry Ford Jordan of Seattle, Wash.; sister-in-law, Bessie L. Holder of Clinton, Miss.; 9 beloved grandchildren, 23, great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, from the First United Methodist Church in Lexington. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery. James R. Peaster, III officiated the service. Pallbearers were Ellis Harris, III, Corley Moses, Jay Cutts, Troy Kerber, Ellis Harris, Jr., and Ken Hutchins. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Dodd Hammett, Timothy Goss, Richard Hammett, Robert Hammett, Leslie Killebrew, Malcolm Phillips, Teat Rodgers. and Dr. John Downer.
