Myron Dillon
Former Fha Supervisor
Died Tuesday In Jackson
W. Myron Dillon of Lexington, former County Supervisor for the Holmes County office of Farmers Home Administration died at the University Medical Center in Jackson on Tuesday morning.

Mr. Dillon had been hospitalized in Jackson since prior to Christmas 1986 having suffered from a lengthy illness.

Dillon began his career with FmHA in February 1949 at Hazlehurst where he served as assistant county supervisor. He came to Lexington in November 1949 and was promoted to county supervisor in Ackerman in June. 1956. He chose to continue to live in Lexington and so he was transferred to Carrollton in August, 1956 to enable him to continue living in Lexington.

In November, 1962 Mr. Dillon was transferred to Lexington to replace W.E. Strider as County Supervisor. He remained in the Lexington office until his retirement.

Funeral services for Mr. Dillon were held Wednesday morning, February 4 at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington.

Funeral services for Willard Myron Dillon, Sr., 67, of Lexington were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 4 from First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Rev. Andy Ray and Rev. Howard Allen officiating. Interment followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dillon died at University Medical Center in Jackson on Tuesday, February 3.

He was the son of Virgil Dillon and Edna Bullock Dillon, a native of Lexie in Walthall County, and a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and Mississippi State University.

Mr. Dillon served for 3½ years in World War II. He worked most of his life with Farmers Home Administration, serving a short time in Copiah and Lincoln Counties, several years in Carroll County, but most of the time as assistant supervisor and county supervisor of the Farmers Home Administration in Holmes County.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Young Dillon of Lexington: three sons - Myron Dillon, Jr. of Mantachie, David Dillon of Lexington and Stanley Dillon of New Albany; six grandchildren: and one grandchild.

Pallbearers were Paul Edwards, Joe Bryan, Dr. John Downer, Charles Cole, Bubba Stewart, Bill Davis, Harold Hammett, Jr., and Holt Smith.

Memorials may be made to the Harold Hammett Youth Fund of First United Methodist Church in Lexington where Mr. Dillon was a member.
