For Mrs. Eggleston
Friday, March 17
Final rites for Mrs. Sarah Byran Eggleston was held at 3:30 p. m. Friday, March 17th from the First Presbyterian Church in Tchula, with the Rev. Ron Segenthaler officiating, assisted by the Rev. John W. Long Jr. Interment was in Odd Fellows cemetery in Lexington with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Eggleston was the widow of the late Dr. Stephen Archer Eggleston who preceded his wife in death in 1952.
Mrs Eggleston was born April 28, 1877 in Evansville, Indiana. She had been a patient in the Greenwood-Leflore Hospital for three days prior to her death Thursday, March 16.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Sara Baine, Tchula, a brother, W. J. Eggleston, Memphis, Tennessee and six grandchildren, Mrs. Becky Rigby. Madison, Mrs. Nell Parker Lyon, Tchula, Mrs. Patricia Moore and Mrs. Stephanie Flagler, Chicago, Ill, Miss Cathy Eggleston. Memphis, Tenn, and Harvey Baine III, of Los Angeles, Calif.
Active pallbears were Ellis Harris, Guy Duke, Mabry South, Byron Sharpe, Buddy Waterer, W. O. Moore, Gaston Lyon and Put Barrett.
Honorary pallbearers were all men of Tchula Presbyterian Church and Dr. Guy Sharpe, Dr. Ira Bright and Dr. P. B. Brumby.
