Mrs. E. B. Keeling Passes June 29 Services were held from the Methodist Church of Lexington on Friday, July 1, at ten a.m. for Mrs. Elizabeth Brand Keeling with the Rev. M. J. Peden officiating assisted by the Rev. H. N. McKibben. Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Keeling, wife of James B. Keeling, passed away June 29 at 3:30 p. m. at the Greenwood Nurses Home after a lengthy illness.
She was born in McCondy on May 3, 1882, and was married on October 21, 1914, in Egypt where she worked as a bookkeeper. She worked in the State Auditors office under Eli Smith.
Before coming to Lexington she lived in New Orleans four years. She was a member of the Rayne Memorial Methodist Church.
She leaves her husband, James B. Keeling: three sisters, Mrs. Berah Landham of Meridian, Mrs. Arah Evans of Blytheville, Arkansas, and Mrs. R. O. Duke of Lexington; six brothers, Odom Brand of Prospect, Texas, Ralph Brand of Dallas, Texas, S. E. Brand of Jackson, J. E. Brand and Theo Brand of Meridian and W. A. Brand of Egypt.
Pallbearers were W. R. McLellan, E. R. Trotman, Roy M. Brown, M. E. Holloman, Ben Moore Hammett, W. R. Ellis, Jr., John J. Martin and Dan S. Pepper.
