Elizabeth Tackett Metcafe Mrs. Elizabeth Tackett Metcafe, 95, a retired teacher of Greenwood died of heart failure Friday, November 3 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood.
Graveside services were held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 6 in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mrs. Metcalfe was a Lexington native. She taught in the Holmes County Public School System for a number of years. She also taught in the Greenwood schools for many years including a number of years at Williams Elementary School. She retired from teaching 30 years ago.
Mrs. Metcalf was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood. She was the widow of Willis R. Metcalfe. Her niece, Evelyn Tackett of Jackson, cared for her.
There are no immediate survivors.
