Obituary
Joseph Carlton Evans

Joseph Carlton Evans of Jackson, 69, a retired truck driver, died of emphysema Monday, April 13 at Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 16 at Breeland Funeral Home with burial in Lexington Cemetery.

Mr. Evans, a Lexington native, had lived in Jackson the past 20 years. He was a World War II Army veteran.

Survivors include: wife, Ethel; sons, Billy Evans of New Orleans and Thomas Evans of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Melody Ann Hoy of Madison, Lynn Chesnut of Magee and Evonne Evans of Jacksonville; sister, Louise Barrentine of Hattiesburg; and seven grandchildren.
