Leslie "Dutch" Farmer was born March 18, 1919, in Holmes County to Sam V. Farmer and Emma McLellan Farmer. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army. He was a retired Holmes County Beat #1 Supervisor and City Supervisor and a member of the First Baptist Church in Lexington. He was married to Hattie Maude Farmer of Lexington and had one brother, Jack B. Farmer of Lexington.
