Mrs. Johnnie Laird Ferrell

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Laird Ferrell, 56, of DeRidder, Louisiana, were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 9 from Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder and then at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, May 10 from Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with Rev. James Carr officiating. Interment followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mrs. Ferrell, a native of Jackson and a resident of DeRidder since 1962, died at Brooke Army Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. She was a retired civil service worker in housing referrals at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

Survivors include her husband, Charles H. Ferrell, Jr. of DeRidder; three daughters, Mrs. Diana Monaghan of Corpus Christi, Texas; Mrs. Rebecca Barnett of Huntsville, Arkansas; and Miss Charlene Ferrell of San Diego, California; her mother, Mrs. Isabell Laird of Tchula: one brother, Luther Ray Laird of Lexington; one sister, Mrs. Vera Blanton of Jackson; one half-sister, Mrs. Mary Dear of Jackson; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Billy Farmer, Mickie Farmer, Jerry Farmer, Roy McGee, Randy Mitchell, and Len Blanton.
