Funeral Service for Elvera Lamensdorf Flowers of Lexington, 77, were held Tuesday, May 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Temple Beth El. Rabbi Gurvis officiated the service. Burial was in Oddfellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mrs. Flowers died Sunday, May 3, at her home in Lexington.
A native of Shaw, she was a graduate of Shaw High School and Newcomb College of Tulane University. Upon graduation from Tulane, Mrs. Flowers married Herman Flowers and moved to Lexington. They had been married for 54 years. She was a housewife and a member of Temple Beth El.
Survivors include her husband, Herman F. Flowers, two daughters, Beth Lebow of Baltimore, MD, and Anne Gold of Savannah, GA; and four grandchildren, Lisa Lebow Kaufman and Brad Lebow of New York, Elizabeth Gold and John Gold of Savannah, GA.
Pallbearers were Stanley Cline, Ben Lamensdorf, Dr. Hugh Lamensdorf, Max Weinstein, Phil Cohen, Pat Barret, Jr., Henry Paris, and E.W. Hooker, Jr.
