Obituary
Dr. Fred Browne

Dr. Fred E. Browne. Sr., 57, died Saturday at Medical Center Hospital in Tyler, Texas after a long illness.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1 in Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Rev. Howard Allen officiating. Southern Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Browne was a native of Attala County, a son of Dr. and Mrs. John Browne.

He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He received his M.A. degree from Princeton University and was a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary.

He served as minister for the first Presbyterian Church of Texarkana, Texas. Upon his retirement he was Minister of Stated Supply for Lauderdale, Ms. Area Churches. Also he was a founder of Church History at Dallas Theological Seminary, Dallas. Texas.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Earl White of Tyler, Texas one grandson, Alfred E. White of Tyler, Texas and two great-grandchildren.
