Services Held Friday
For Retired Planter
Funeral services for William Albert Fritz, 74, retired Lexington RFD 4 planter, who died at 3 p.m., April 14, were conducted Friday at the Methodist church by the Rev. C. T. Floyd, assisted by the Rev. Paul D. Bragg. Burial was in Odd Fellows cemetery.
Mr. Fritz, who had in his lifetime served as printer, sawmill owner, school bus driver, well digger, main carrier, and planter, was born November 18, 1874, near Lexington, and lived here all his life. He died of a heart ailment after an illness of eight months.
In 1900 he married Mary Lillie Nabors, who preceded him in death 26 years ago. On Christmas Eve, 1948, he suffered the misfortune of his home being destroyed by fire. He was a member of Lexington Methodist church.
He leaves one son, Albert Carl Fritz of Winnsboro, La.; three daughters; Mrs. Steve Sesher, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Bob Farmer and Mrs. Buck Tidwell of Lexington: one brother, Otto A. Fritz and one sister, Miss Lucy E. Fritz, both of Lexington.
Also surviving are one aunt, Mrs. Dora Jacques of Lexington; 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.
Pallbearers were John W. Farmer, Herbert Watson, Calvin Ussery, Earl M. Robertson, Righard McDonald, and Marlin Grantham.
Southern Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
