Ed Tate Rites
Held Wednesday
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from the First Baptist Church for Ed Tate, 73, who died Wednesday morning at 4 o’clock at the Lexington hospital. The Rev. Paul Bragg officiated.
Mr. Tate had been in ill health for several months.
He was born July 24th, 1878[7] and had lived all his life in Holmes county, where he was engaged in farming until several years ago.
Mr. Tate is survived by his wife, two sons, Irby Tate, with the U. S. Armed Forces in Germany and Earl Tate, with the U. S. Army at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina; one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Sisson of Lubbock, Texas. Also surviving are eight grandchildren.
Southern was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were J. P. Tidwell, K. B. Tidwell, William R. McLellan, A. E. Rutledge, Leon Armstrong, Calvin Moore, Tom Cothran and George Bailey.
