Obituary
Mrs. Grace Weems Byrd

Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Weems Byrd, 80, of Jackson were held from Southern Funeral Home chapel in Lexington on Saturday, March 22 with Rev. Mike O’Brien officiating. Interment followed In Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington. Mrs. Byrd died at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson on Thursday, March 20.

Mrs. Byrd was a native of Holmes County, a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington, and a retired nurse. She lived in Lexington until moving to Jackson in 1983.

Survivors include one son - O.B. Byrd of Lexington; one daughter - Charlotte Blackstock of Tchula; two brothers - Edward Weems of Lexington and Eugene Weems of Jackson; one sister - Kate Blackstock of Terry; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Hilton Holley, Roy Gelston, George Shute, Mac Phillips, Jack Farmer, Dutch Farmer, Leo Alderman, and Vernon Hathcock.
