Funeral services for Ben Moore Hammett, 65, were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Burial was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Rev Shelby Hathorn officiating.
Mr. Hammett died suddenly Saturday, March 28. He had been a lifetime resident of Lexington and was a retired service station owner, a veteran of World War II and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Lexington.
Survivors include Four Brothers, Max Hammett, of Jackson, Harold Hammett of Lexington, W.P. Hammett of Lexington and Curtis Hammett of Memphis; two sisters, Mrs. F.S. Ewing of Siton, Texas and Mrs. F.O. Ferguson of Fort Worth, Texas.
Pallbearers were: Gene Trotman, Bill Powers, John Massey, Doty Porter, Wilburn Hooker, Wallace Johnson, Will Barrett and Eugene Herman.
Southern Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
