Services for Mrs. Elsie Mae Hammett, 75, of Lexington were held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mrs. Hammett died July 16, 2004 at her residence. She was a native of Memphis. She and her husband , W. P. "Dubber" Hammett Jr., moved to the Hammett family home in Lexington shortly after their marriage and she lived there until her death. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Hegwood of Canton; two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; by her parents, Ellis and Margaret Boyd, a sister, Elizabeth, and her brother, Doug, who lived in Midland, Texas.
Father Greg Plata officiated.
Pallbearers were Sam Sample, Tommy Haffey, Dan Edwards, Harold Hammett Jr., Mack Ginn, Danny Brett, Courtney Phillips and Redigo Phillips.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church, 200 Boulevard St., Lexington, MS 39095.
