Final Rites Held For
Mrs. Irene Harvey
Final rites were held Tuesday, July 7, for Mrs. Irene Roach Harvey from the First Presbyterian Church of Lexington at three p.m. with the Rev. Hayes Clark officiating. Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Harvey, 95, was born September 23, 1859, in Alabama. She moved to Mississippi at the age of five, and died Monday, July 4, at 12:25 p.m. in a Jackson Nursing Home. The cause of her death was a broken hip, suffered a year ago, and old age. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lexington. Survivors are three sons, Ike S. Harvey of Jackson, Gaines Harvey and W. A. Harvey of Lexington; four daughters. Mrs. E. R. Robertson of Glenn Allen, Mrs. Davey Kennedy of Jackson, Mrs. J. D. Parrish of Lexington, and Mrs. W. D. Berdon of Natchez; one step-daughter, Mrs. Harvey Gaines of Amite, Louisiana; one brother, J. M. Roach, Jr., of Lexington; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
