Obituary
Helen D. Siegrist, MD
Helen D. Siegrist, MD, 87, formerly of Jackson, a retired physician, died Friday, August 20, 1999 after an extended illness (heart failure) at her home in Bay St. Louis.

Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. today (Thursday, August 26) at Fondren Presbyterian Church in Jackson, with graveside services at 2:00 p.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington. Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home of Jackson was in charge of arrangements.

Dr. Siegrist was born in Egypt, MS and grew up in Lexington. She had lived in Jackson for 38 years prior to moving to Bay St. Louis.

She completed her pre-medical education and had received her Medical Doctor degree from the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a general practitioner in Jones County for a number of years before completing a residency in Pathology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She practiced as a Board Certified Pathologist and was the Chief of the Clinical Laboratory at the V.A. Medical Center in Jackson before her retirement.

She was a member of Fondren Presbyterian Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her daughter, Joy Helen Siegrist, M.D. and her grandson Mason O’NeaI Siegrist, both of New Orleans, Louisiana.
