R. Annette Cothran Henley
Mrs. R. Annette Cothran Henley, 51, of Lexington died of cancer Wednesday, May 17 at River Oaks Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18 at First Baptist Church in Lexington. Dr. Michael O’Brien was the officiating minister. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington with Southern Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
A native of Holmes County, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington. She was a retired casting director and actress; member of The Screen Actors Guild, member of The Mississippi Film Commission, honored with an award by the Mississippi Film Commission. Movies to her credit are: “Ode to Billy Joe”, “Nightmare in Badham County”, “Barn Burning”, “Walking Tall-Final Chapter”, “I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings”. “Beulah Land”, “The Mississippi--T.V. Series”, and “The North and The South”.
Survivors include: parents, Tom and Fanny Tidwell Cothran of Lexington; daughters, Mara Henley Campbell of Flora and Allicia Henley Smith of Yazoo City; brothers, Tom Cothran, Jr. of Brandon and Brad M. Cothran of Lexington; sister, Babs Cothran Edwards of West; and three grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Bob Dickard, Wes Sterling, Phil Sterling, Jr., Robert Autry, Jr., J. M. Tidwell, and Shade Bethany. Honorary pallbearers were Calvin Moore, Vernon Hathcock, Jack Farmer, Will Long, Bob Gilfoy, and Ward Emiling.
