Obituary
Joseph Walton Herring

Joseph Walton Herring, a resident of Long Beach, died Saturday at Gulfport Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 Monday, November 20 from Reimann’s Funeral Chapel in Gulfport with the Rev. Roy Barlow, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Long Beach, assisted by the Rev. Beardon pastor of Moss Point United Methodist Church.

Graveside services were held in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington Monday, November 20 with the Rev. Leslie Nabors officiating.

Mr. Herring was a native of Lexington, a son of Millard Filmore and Talullah Lee Herring. He was a veteran of War II, a member of United Methodist Church and retired from the Gulfport Naval Base.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lennie Ellison Herring; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Downer and a host of nieces and nephews.
