Obituary
Hilda L. Cook
Mrs. Hilda L. Cook, 72, of Greenwood died Tuesday, February 9, 1999 of complications from surgery at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a. m. Friday, February 12 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Officiating ministers were Rev. Mike OBrien and Rev. Joe Sonny Chapman. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mrs. Cook, a native of Holmes County, was a retired legal stenographer. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lexington.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Swinney.
Survivors include: husband, W. L. Buddy Cook of Greenwood; son, Joel A. Sandy Power of Pensacola, Florida; step-sons, W. L. Cook, Jr. of Batesville and Robert C. Cook of Memphis, Tennessee; sisters, Lucille L. Tarpley of Madison, Hattie L. Farmer of Lexington, and Beulah L. Galey of Coila; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Timmy Angell, Bubba Stewart, Aubrey Chapman, Allan Fox, Sean Angell, and Leslie Angell.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 200 Tchula St., Lexington, MS 39095.
