Sara B. Hollingsworth
Sara Boatwright Hollingsworth, 95, a retired schoolteacher of Cleveland, died of heart failure Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Boliver County Hospital.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21 in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mrs. Hollingsworth, a Lexington native, was a graduate of Lexington High School and Mississippi University for Women. She taught school in Rolling Fork for three years. She received her master’s degree from Louisiana State University. She retired from Ouchita Parish High School in Monroe, La, as head of the math department after teaching there for 35 years and moved to Cleveland in 1967. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was the widow of George Austin Hollingsworth.
Survivors include: son, David Welsh of Charlestown, R.I.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
