J. W. Holloman Funeral Services Held Thursday
Funeral services for Joseph Walter Holloman, 94, retired lumberman, were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday from Southern Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Gus Merritt and the Reverend Howard Allen officiating. Interment followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mr. Holloman died Tuesday, June 27, at Grenada County Hospital where he had been a patient for one day. He had been a patient at Care Inn Nursing Home in Grenada for two weeks.
A native of Iron County, Missouri, he had been a resident of Lexington for forty years. He was the son of Matilda Bullinger and Edmond Holloman. Mr. Hollomans unique personality and kind consideration of others endeared him to all who knew him.
Survivors Include his wife, Mrs. Ellen Waldrop Holloman; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Murphy, Mrs. Ruth Duke, both of Lexington, Mrs. Elizabeth Hull, Bay Springs and Irene Harthcock, Jackson and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers were William Moses, W.H. Fincher, Jr., John Kimbrough, Jr., Bob McLellan, Charles W. Bailey and John Stewart Watson.
