Son of Sidney Fant Davis, Sr. & Florence Lillian Grace "Girlie" Heard Davis; husband of Bertha Dorothy Lucille Pahlen.

Homer T. Davis

Funeral services for Homer Talmadge Davis, 68, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Howard Allen officiating. Interment followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Mr. Davis died at his residence Sunday morning with an apparent heart attack.

A native of Sunflower County, he was the son of the late Judge Sidney Fant Davis and Lillian Heard. Judge Davis served as Circuit Court judge of Holmes, Sunflower, Washington, and Leflore counties for many years. Mr. Davis received his education in Indianola and Southwestern in Memphis, Tennessee. Upon graduation he came to Lexington as a coach and teacher in the public school. Later he was employed as manager of West Brothers Motor Freight in Hattiesburg.

He returned to Lexington where he has lived for forty years. Training dogs was a lifelong hobby of his and for the past twenty years he was widely known as a professional trainer, training dogs for companion and police work.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Homer Davis; two daughters, Mrs. Tom Guest, Canton, and Mrs. Ann Fant Davis, Memphis; three brothers, Sidney Fant Davis, Toledo, Ohio, Jeff Davis, Atlanta, Georgia, Howard Davis, Indianola and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Harold Emerson, Jack Flannigan, Jr., John Kimbrough, H,Q. Davis, Jr., Hunter Cade and Norman Weathersby, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. P.B. Brumby, Dr. Gordon Russ., Paul Phillips and Henri Watson, Sr.
