Obituary

Mrs. Henrietta Hyman

Graveside services held for
Lexington business owner

Henrietta Hyman, longtime Lexington resident, died March 7, 1999 after a lengthy illness. Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 9, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. in Bethel El Cemetery in Lexington.

A native of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Mrs. Hyman was a retired registered dietician. She graduated from The University of Texas and completed her dietician internship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. Her career included positions in dietary departments of Parkland Hospital in Dallas, and the Houston and Holmes County schools. She was also a consulting dietician to North Mississippi area hospitals and nursing homes.

After the death of her husband Herbert Hyman in 1991, Mrs. Hyman assumed the presidency of Hyman Corporation, and was active in the management of the business at the time of her death.

Mrs. Hyman was involved for many years in Girl Scouting, the Lexington Garden Club, and the Red Cross, among other organizations. She was a member of Temple Beth-El, where she taught Sunday School, and served several times as president of the Julia Lewis Sisterhood.

In recent years, she discovered the personal computer and the Internet, and spent many enjoyable hours surfing the Internet and playing computer games. Mrs. Hyman was an avid baseball fan and a follower of the St. Louis Cardinals.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Henry D. Baum, Jr. of Ardmore, Oklahoma; and a sister, Irene Baum Winner of Houston, Texas.

Mrs. Hyman is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hyman and Gina Hyman, both of Dallas, Texas; and a niece, Emily Haaren of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Jewish National Fund, 78 Randall Ave., Rockville Center, NY 11570 or a charity of your choice.
