Virgil Owen Ingold, Jr., 83, died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at his home in Madison. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 8 at Southern Funeral Home in Lexington.
The burial following the service was at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mr. Ingold was born on November 30, 1929 in Lexington. He was a United States Army veteran and spent over 20 years in law enforcement. He retired in 1995 from the Holmes Community College campus police department. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lexington and Lexington Lodge #27.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy; 2 daughters, Linda and Judy; and his brother Earnest Lee.
He is survived by one son, John E. Morgan III of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren, Amy Lynn Word, Dee Dee Cobb, Bridgett Chisolm, Matt Hathcock and Taryn Morgan; and nine great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sta-Home Hospice, Senior Home Care, and friend and neighbor, Julia Edwards for their love and compassion.
