Obituary
Col. Isaac Read King
Col. Isaac Read King, 85, of Lexington died Wednesday, April 7, 1999 of heart failure at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Col. King was born in Nutbush, Haywood County, Tennessee. He attended Mississippi State University. He served in World War II and two tours of duty in Korea. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the John Stephens Fellowship Class.

Services were held April 9 from First United Methodist Church of Lexington with interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Read Kerr, Kenneth Freshwater, Daniel Kerr, Mark Hedl and O. K. Bryant IV. Honorary pallbearers were members of his Sunday School Class and Dr. Charles Campbell.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Beall King, his sister, Malissa Temple and his brother, Louis King. Survivors include three daughters, Betty Forbes, of Wilmette, Illinois, Sarah Kerr of Athens, Tennessee, and Tallulah Bryant of Slidell, Louisiana; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
