John F. Pickens Services Held
John Flanery Pickens, 55, former Lexington resident, died suddenly at the South Sunflower County hospital in Indianola on Monday, April 1.

Rosary was said at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Coleman Funeral Home chapel in Indianola and mass was held Wednesday at 9 a.m. Burial followed in the Lexington cemetery.

Pickens was born and reared in Holmes County and had been an Indianola resident for six and a half years. He was associated with his brother, George Pickens, in the drug business. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, was a World War II veteran, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Hilda B. Pickens; a daughter, Beth Pickens; a son, Charley F. Pickens, and his brother, all of Indianola.
