Obituary

John Edwin Word
Funeral services for John Word, 74, of Lexington were 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Rev. Tom Hollowell officiated, assisted by Rev. Bill Barrett. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mr. Word died of an aneurysm Saturday, January 23 at Methodist Hospital of Middle Mississippi.

A native of Carroll County, he was a retired cattle farmer, a World War II Air Force veteran, and a Methodist.

Survivors include two sons: Ed Word of Kilmichael and Johnny Word of Lexington; one brother, Fincher Word of Indianola; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Serving as active pallbearers were: Ernest Lee Ingold, V. O. lngold, Danny Ingold, John Word, ??? Johnson, Sr. and William Henry ??? .

Honorary pallbearers were ??? Johnson, Bill McLellan, Bob McLellan, Leslie (Dutch) Farmer, Lewis Lipsey, E. Kellum, E. E. Shaw, Jim ??? , ??? Barrett, and Malcolm Phillips.
