Obituary
Johnnie Bailey Lundy

Johnnie Bailey Lundy, 101, died Sunday, August 19, 2007, at the Magnolia Gardens of Greenville. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at Boone-Wells Funeral Home in Greenville, MS, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington, MS, at 2:00 p.m. Boone-Wells Funeral Home in Greenville handled the arrangements.

Mrs. Lundy was born on May 22, 1906 in Black Hawk, the daughter of John and Mamie Robertson Bailey. She attended Black Hawk School in Carroll County and Holmes County Junior College. In 1924, she married Ben Clower Lundy, Sr., and they made their home in Kosciusko. They moved to the Mississippi Delta in 1929. In 1960, the Lundy's moved to Sweetwater, Texas returning to Greenville in 1975.

Mrs. Lundy was a member of First United Methodist Church, both in Texas and in Greenville, the Seekers Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women, and Women's Book Review. She was a wonderful cook and always enjoyed entertaining her friends and family in her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Ben Clower Lundy, Sr.; two brothers, two sisters, and three great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: two sons, B.C. Lundy, Jr. and wife, Lollie of Leland, and Charles Earl Lundy, and wife, Clarice of Brandon; seven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church in Greenville or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
