Funeral services for L. B. Johnson, 75, of Lexington, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Rev. James Carr officiated, assisted by Rev. Wayne Hudson. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mr. Johnson died of congestive heart failure Wednesday, July 13 at Methodist Hospital of Middle Mississippi.

A native of Attala County, he was a retired employee of the U. S. Forest Service where he worked from 1954 until 1981. He was a member and deacon at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, and a World War II Marine veteran.

Survivors include: his wife, Margaret W. Johnson of Lexington; son, Johnny Dale Johnson of Lexington; daughter, Judy Dasinger of Prattville, Alabama; brothers, Earl Johnson of Lexington and Morris Johnson of Tchula; sisters, Nora V. Jones and Lillian Shumaker, both of Tchula; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were Rusty Williamson, Russell Fletcher, Jimmy Dale Thomas, Richard Davis, James R. Sanford and Danny Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Charles Campbell, Larry Wayne Johnson and Mike Daniels.
