Obituary
Services Held Monday For Wallace Johnson
Funeral services were held Monday, September 2[5] at 3 p.m. for Lexington’s Postmaster Wallace Rogers Johnson, Jr., at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Leslie Nabors officiating. Burial was at Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson, 52, a former rural mail carrier and postmaster since 1972, died Saturday at the Mississippi Baptist Hospital in Jackson after a six week’s battle with cancer.

He was a veteran of World War II and an active member of First United Methodist Church in Lexington.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Yvette Ellis Johnson of Lexington; two sons, Hugh Richard (Bubber) Johnson of McComb and Wallace (Buster) Johnson, III of Jackson; two daughters, Jennifer M. Johnson and Neva Lynne Johnson of Lexington; his mother, Mrs. Neva H. Johnson of Lexington; one sister, Mrs. Irma Gibson of Fort Worth, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Frank Hughes, Fred Powers, Mike Stark, Bob McLellan, Curtis Gibson and Doug Smith.

Honorary pallbearers were Clarence Minyard, Johnny Baughn and Sidney Henley.
