Funeral services for William Wilson "Bill" Jordan, 72 of Lexington, were held January 3 at 3:00 p.m. in Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. Officiating minister was the Rev. Gene Richardson. Interment was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.
Mr. Jordan died January 1 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson following a brief illness.
A native of Holmes County, Mr. Jordan was a self employed T.V. and radio serviceman. He owned Jordan Radio and T.V. Service for 48 years. He graduated from Holmes Junior College and then attended Radio School in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. He had also served as moderator for Holmes-Leflore Baptist Association.
Serving as active pallbearers were Kirk Thomas, Perry Adkins, Louie Beall Nichols, Bruce Hill, Melvin Grantham, William Lehner, George Pilgrim and Joe Moore.
Honary pallbears were Dr. Charles W. Campbell, Dr. Kenneth Bennett, Dr. Ron Kennedy, John Kimbrough, Bob McLellan, Joe Tingle, Gordon Ashley, Hugh Skinner, Johnnie Baughn, Billy Zeigler, Tom Cothran, Bill Rainer, E.B. Henley.
The Family requests that memorials be made to Baptist Children's Village.
