Obituary
Lacey Chapman
Funeral services for William Lacey Chapman, 58, of Lexington were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 17 at Southern Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joel Smith was the officiating minister. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lexington.

Mr. Chapman died of heart failure on Saturday, January 15 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson.

A native of Holmes County, he served from 1958-1960 in the U. S. Army, attended Holmes Junior College and was a graduate of Delta State University. He worked for Illinois Central Railroad, retiring in 1988 after 37 years.

Survivors include: his wife, Ann Ray Chapman of Lexington; daughter, Lacey Ann Chapman of Lexington; step-son, Donald Farmer of Greenwood; mother, Violet M. Ray of Tchula: brother, Robert M. Chapman of Tchula; and five grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Dorsey Cockrell, Clayton Spell, Randy Henderson, Charles Reeves, Curtis Gilmer and Donald Estes.
